Viper Recloser Program 2024
Services:
- Engineering
- Design
- Scoping
- Permitting
The Viper Recloser program aims to install new Viper Reclosers on overhead distribution circuits to enhance sectionalization and automate jumpering during abnormal conditions. MES conducted comprehensive engineering and scoping, including fault and load flow studies, across more than 130 distribution circuits to ensure system reliability and optimal performance. The team designed and implemented configurations for over 350 Viper devices, advancing automated distribution networks. Additionally, MES supported the development and piloting of switch and sectionalizer functionalities for Viper devices, contributing to pilot projects involving 13.2kV distribution circuits. MES also executed substation relay resets and performed device configuration and integration for Viper devices on analyzed circuits, ensuring seamless operation and alignment with system requirements.
